Guinevere Tebbets {Guin} --------
Seventeen Regina, Saskatchewan April 22
--------
Guin was born into one of the most powerful and richest family's in Regina. Her parents were the type that were never home, her siblings the perfect model students. Guin was different. As a child, she would never stop crying, ever it seemed. The simplest things could set her off, and sometimes it seemed like nothing at all would make her start balling. No one knew that she was experiencing horrible pain in her head. This was the first sign of her power that lead her to Lunar eventually. She grew out of crying and learned to bear the pain soon though, and that helped, dulling it. Though at this age, Guin had no idea why the pain was there.
In school, she soon found out that if she tried to lie, she couldn't, it would cause to much pain. This is how she found out,a t the mere age of six, that when people lied she'd get a jolt of pain through her head. She never told anyone though, it seemed to strange. It was around this time that Guin's siblings were teenagers. Her siblings were perfect, popular, athletic, everything. High standards at school were set for Guin with a last name like Tebbets. She never lived up to these standards. In class she was horrible, she hated sitting still, it was almost as if she had ADD. She never stayed still for a moment, the teachers almost had to tape her to her desk. She rarely did her work, it required to much sitting around.
In high-school her power was a horrible thing to have, it seemed as if around every corner was another lie. Soon she learned to smother the pain, it was a mere annoyance now. In high school high standards were still set, but again, she never lived up to them. The only thing Guin seemed to be good at was drawing, but surprisingly she got horrible grades in that class. That was because she didn't enjoy doing what the teacher told her to do, she was much more free form then that. Guin nearly always failed, but just before the report cards got out, she'd find a way so that she'd pass.
One day Guin was at her best-friend-since-they-were-five's house for a party. His mom had, of course, invited the whole class to the party. The thing she didn't know that she'd invited the three bullies in the class that were always bothering him. Guin often told him to ignore it, but he never did. That day, everything seemed to be going fine until Guin heard her best-friends mom yelling for help while she was in the house. She quickly ran out and found her best friend laying in the pool, not moving. The bullies where standing near the edge of the pool, looking frightened. Life guards pulled him out quickly, and he was carted off to the hospital.
Guin was worried for days, hoping to god that he wasn't dead. Then one day she found out he wasn't, miraculously. He'd lived, though the doctors said he hadn't. He never told her what had happened that day for a while. Then when they were both fifteen, he finally said even he didn't know what happened, but he wanted to find out. They went to the public pool, Guin's idea of course to sneak in after hours, to find out. She watched as he dived in the pool, staying under for a long amount of time. He wasn't moving, one bit. Guin started to get scared after a while, and finally had to call the guards. They took her out, and went to save her friend. The last she saw of her best friend was him being carted off to the hospital in an ambulance.
She was sure he was dead, she never saw him again, ever. It made her extremely sad, and she was depressed for a while. But then she pretended to stop caring, though she was still sad. She began to act like her old self. The bullies that had nearly drowned her best friend had been bugging her since his death, but now she finally stood up to them. They left her alone after that.
It was just recently that her power was found out by others. She'd always managed to hide it, but not now. Her parents had been fighting more and more, and they always lied to her about it, she could tell. Finally, the pain of them lying got to much, and she screamed at them to stop lying, she knew they fought. They had no clue how she knew this, they always kept it so quite. She told them she knew that they were lying, she could feel it. Concerned, her parents brought her to a physiologist. Being typical Guin, she told him everything, not worrying about the consequences.
The day after she told him everything, he told her he was sending her to an academy in BC. She asked why, and he explained that it was for people like her, people with powers. She went, exited to be in a place with other people like her.
